Dr Adebanjo Jonathan Adegbola

Head of Department

Adebanjo holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and he is the current Acting Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He had a Clinical Research and Product Development EDCTP postdoctoral Fellowship at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Training Programme (KWTRP), Kenya and another postdoctoral training at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Currently, he is investigating the impact of changes in parasite molecular signature on the therapeutic and chemoprevention efficacy of antimalarial. Besides, with funding from the GSK Africa Open Laboratory, Adebanjo is currently carrying out a study titled “Assessment of Drug and Diagnostic Resistance Signature in Plasmodium falciparum: Implications on Strategies for malaria control in Nigeria (ADDReSS-Malaria)”
